Shame

I don’t recognize shame as an emotion. I don’t believe it exists on the emotional spectrum, I don’t believe it has the same claim to a state of mind as do anger, hatred, joy, sadness, excitement, tranquility or fear. Shame is the anti-emotion.

Where one wishes to feel, but cannot, there is often shame. Shame is the state of mind made not as an emotion, but in the attempt of avoiding an emotion. It is the reclusion from anger, the fear at a connection, and the restriction of joy.

Shame is a burden in growth, and it can be extremely hard to let go of work past or release. That said, I hope anyone and everyone can let go of shame, as they deserve.

Until next time,

Cade
